about.
My name is Karen Ferris, wife, mother, going green advocate, and founder of Live Local Columbus. I have worn many hats since graduating Miami University in 1989, where I earned a business degree in analytics. I first became a REALTOR® when my kids were young, only to leave it behind to focus on my family.
While staying home with my three kids, I was inspired to start a going green educational website called Big Green Head. In 2009 I organized Green on the Green, an annual, local, event showcasing exhibitors promoting sustainability, localism, healthy living, handcrafted items, native plants, and environmental stewardship. You can visit Green on the Green the first Saturday of May on Worthington’s Historic Village Green! Now that my kids are grown, I'm back to real estate to show folks around town and help them navigate the buying and selling of their home. While not working, I enjoy hanging out with my family, cooking great food, walking my black lab Luna, fly fishing, and rowing on Alum Creek. |
